About the Scheme
The registered charity Veteran Horse Welfare (VHW) funds and runs two Rehabilitation
Centres which are currently home to over 30 veteran horses and ponies. Whilst
some of these horses will be able to be rehomed once they have completed their
rehabilitation, others may never be strong enough or are simply unable to cope
with the change to new homes. These ponies will remain at the Centres for the
rest of their lives. Here, just like any other ponies, they simply adore to
be visited, loved and made a fuss of!
The VHW Pony Adoption Scheme allows you to do just that and you’ll soon
see that they absolutely love the attention! Your adoption fee will go directly
towards the cost of looking after your nominated ponies which, due to popular
demand, are now available to adopt in pairs.
What do I get?
It costs £20 to adopt a pair of ponies for
one year. You will then receive:
• A personalised adoption certificate;
• A colour photograph of your ponies together;
• Your ponies’ fact files and stories;
• An invitation to meet your ponies on VHW Open Days.
After six months you will also receive:
• An update on your ponies, including all of their news;
• A new, up to date, photograph of your ponies together.
As part of your adoption package, you and your
family are invited come along to the Rehabilitation Centre on VHW Open Days
to meet your ponies and all their other friends. There will be two open days
per year, at each Centre. This is a highly rewarding and enjoyable day, for
you and your ponies alike. Weekend visits can also be arranged by appointment.
Don’t forget, pony adoption can make
a great present or surprise for somebody else!
How do I enrol on the Scheme?
With many ponies to choose from, you are bound
to find the perfect pair for you!

the address shown.
