The Charity's head office is home to many horses on rehabilitation and your support allows our work to continue. Hidden away on the stunning coastline in Pembrokeshire we are an ideal location for retirement. We therefore have recently opened our doors to horses requiring specialised retirement
Visit our Ebay shop for a great selection of great gifts.
We are also in need of any rugs or equipment for the horses this winter. If you are thinking of a winter 'clearout' we gratefully receive any goods from rugs to wheel barrows. Also office equipment and any old surplus stationery, we can recycle most items, or we are able to sell these in our small second hand shop, to raise funds for the horses. Thank you
Please find below the first survey for veteran horse owners to help us promote the care, welfare and enjoy of older horses. Everyone is welcome to participate and we hope that this will be shared and passed around the Globe and not just around the UK.
This is what makes the charity and Membership Society so unique. A percentage of membership helps horses like 'Claire', whether it is advice or an urgent rescue the VHS and VHW is always there to help.
"Several weeks ago, having been on a forum regarding older horses (sorry can't remember what it was), it advised that I could get good advice from yourselves. I didn't know your opening hours but spoke to the most charming and helpful lady (I know it was after you close), who was doing something to help your cause (again can't now remember exactly what she was doing). She advised me to contact/get information regarding a product you had been trialling for a month, (Fast Fibre and Veteran Vitality) by a company Alan and Page - well I just can't thank you enough for her good advice, because within a 3 week period my cob has been transformed from an RSPCA job into the animal she was ten years ago. Thank you, thank you, thank you. . Your lady was SO lovely and so jolly. Thank you all for doing an amazing job. Love to you all, kind, caring people. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"
"Julianne , I can't thank you enough! With your long distance advice, we have taken Merriefach from a horse, depressed, stumbling and not expected to live for the summer, to the picture you see above. She was First in her class today, 3rd overall. She qualified for the Championship show to be held in Sept."
Not bad for 33 and the first show in 20 years.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
