An idyllic place for your veteran to retire
Veteran Horse Welfare is pleased to be able to offer full retirement to horses and ponies aged 15 and over at the Veteran Horse Centre, situated on the stunning Welsh coast within the Pembrokeshire National Park. The Centre is home to a variety of horses ranging from miniature Shetlands to large cobs.
The Centre is home to founder of the Veteran Horse Society, Julianne Aston, who has run the Centre for over 10 years. Julianne and her dedicated staff are some of the most experienced equine people in the UK, caring for the specific needs of older horses.
The Centre is manned 24 hours a day 7 days a week and can currently offer places to any horse in need of specialist care and attention. It has excellent grazing as well as restricted grazing available, ensuring the individual needs of every horse are met in the most ideal environment.
All horses have their own stable, with sizes ranging from 25 x 30 ft through to smaller boxes for Shetlands. Each stable has it own rubber matting, mirror and various other toys. Each horse is brought in at night during the winter months, and there are a range of professionally maintained paddocks for winter and summer grazing.
With regular visits from the dentist, vet and farrier, the Centre prides itself on professional and dedicated care to make each horse’s stay the most enjoyable possible and to ensure peace of mind for you. The yard atmosphere is always quiet and relaxed around the horses, while in the field they can graze happily and undisturbed and take in the clean coastal air. Truly an idyllic environment for any horse or and pony to retire in.
